Following the highly controversial Pacquiao – Bradley fight is the
opened door for a continuation of the Pacquiao – Marquez’s hottest
trilogy in boxing history, and that is set to happen on November 10th of
this year. Top Rank’s CEO and Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum is positive
on staging a fourth fight between the two great boxing warriors. What
will happen to the crowd-stirring rematch between Pacquiao and Bradley?
Bob Arum sees Pacquiao – Marquez more interesting for now, with
Mayweather Jr. as the hottest in line, and probably Bradley the least.
Marquez was alleged to retire in boxing following a huge disappointment
in his third fight with Pacquiao. But his biggest dream of proving to
the world how great a warrior he is in front of Pacquiao led him back to
the ring.
“The main reason for me to continue is that I want a rematch with Manny,
and that is the main factor for me to come back,” Marquez said.
In an interview with Bob Arum about the probable fight, he said it is possible.
“Everybody would certainly agree that Juan Manuel deserves a rematch. I
am concentrating on that if Manny can fight through to next year,” he
told Espn. com’s Dan Rafael.
"Juan Manuel Marquez is one of the finest fighters in the world, and
many people felt that the account he gave fighting Manny Pacquiao would
have won the fight, but that is boxing," Arum said of the third fight.
"Hopefully, Juan Manuel is on the path right now so he can again fight
Manny Pacquiao later in the year."
Marquez was said to have requested the fight to be in Mexico City, his
hometown. Meanwhile, Bob Arum agrees given that the conditions are met.
“The leaders in Mexico City should work together to make it happen,” Arum said.
